INEC to begin 2025 continuous voter registration on August 18

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced that the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will kick off nationwide on August 18.
In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, INEC revealed that the online pre-registration portal — cvr.inecnigeria.org — will go live on August 18, allowing eligible Nigerians to begin the process remotely.
Physical registration at designated centres across the country will commence a week later, starting from August 25.

The in-person exercise will take place in all local government offices of the commission and at designated registration centres nationwide.
INEC noted that the registration exercise will run from Mondays to Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
“Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register,” the commission stated.
