Unidentified gunmen abducted female staff members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday along Aloma Road in Kogi State.
Reports indicate that the victims were travelling from Abuja to Anambra State on an official assignment in preparation for the upcoming governorship election when the attack took place.
According to reports, the armed assailants ambushed their vehicle, fired multiple shots, and shattered its windscreen. Fortunately, none of the occupants sustained gunshot injuries.
The abducted officials were said to have been deployed to Anambra for the printing of the voters’ register and other essential election materials in preparation for the state’s governorship poll scheduled for the first week of November.

The gunmen were said to have abducted all the occupants of the bus, including the driver and his wife.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful.
