NDLEA officer arrested for attempted robbery, shooting of bolt driver in Abuja

A serving officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in connection with an attempted armed robbery and the shooting of a Bolt driver in Abuja.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident took place at approximately 12:10 a.m. on May 9 in the City View Estate, Galadimawa area. Police responded to a distress call reporting an ongoing robbery.
The suspect, identified as an Inspector with the NDLEA’s FCT Command, allegedly tried to hijack a Toyota Corolla with registration number KWL 736 SZ, driven by Mr. Israel Emeka, while the vehicle was still in motion. In the process, he reportedly shot the driver.

During the encounter, the suspect reportedly fired a shot at the driver using a locally made firearm. Emeka was quickly transported to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jabi, where he remains under medical care.
Responding promptly to the call, officers from the Galadimawa Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), apprehended the suspect at the scene.
Authorities said they recovered a locally fabricated pistol along with two live cartridges from the individual.
