National Youth Games 2025: Record 6,382 participants set for Asaba showpiece

The city of Asaba is set to host the 9th edition of the National Youth Games (NYG), with a record-breaking number of athletes and officials confirmed for participation.
The event will run from August 29 to September 6, 2025, promising days of exciting competition and youth excellence.
According to the final entries captured on the Digital Registration Management (DRM) system, a total of 6,382 participants from all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be part of this year’s Games. The breakdown includes 4,961 athletes, 635 coaches, 386 team officials, and 400 state delegates.
Although Gombe State is yet to complete its DRM process for its 74-member contingent, the overall registered figure still stands at an impressive 6,382 participants.

This year’s Games will feature no fewer than 37 sporting events, offering a platform for young talents to showcase their skills, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
Defending champions Team Delta will be aiming to retain their crown on home soil, but they are expected to face stiff competition from rival states hungry for glory at the 2025 edition.
