Dangote Refinery to begin nationwide fuel supply from August 15

In a landmark development for Nigeria’s energy sector, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to commence the nationwide supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel starting August 15, 2025.
This move is expected to significantly enhance fuel availability and reduce reliance on fuel imports.
To support its expansive distribution network, the refinery is deploying 4,000 brand-new tankers powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). These eco-friendly vehicles will transport fuel across all regions of the country, offering delivery at no extra cost to customers.
The free delivery service will benefit a wide spectrum of fuel consumers, including filling stations, manufacturing firms, telecommunications companies, aviation service providers, and other commercial users.
In addition, the company is investing in infrastructure to ensure reliable service, including the establishment of CNG booster stations and the deployment of more than 100 CNG-powered tankers to facilitate consistent and sustainable delivery.

A credit programme is also being introduced for bulk buyers. Customers who purchase at least 500,000 litres will be eligible to receive an equal volume on a two-week credit basis, provided they present a bank guarantee.
This initiative is expected to ease transportation costs, reduce fuel prices, revive non-operational fuel stations, generate employment, and enhance energy availability, especially in rural and underserved areas.
Describing the initiative as a strategic step to stabilise the nation’s fuel supply, Dangote Petroleum Refinery said the programme aligns with both the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude exchange framework and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“This is about inclusive growth and affordability,” the company said. “We are committed to ensuring no community is left behind in access to cleaner, more efficient energy.”
