Sadiq Umar, Bello El-Rufai take over historic Rancher Bees FC

Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar and Hon. Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor and current lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, have officially completed the takeover of Rancher Bees FC in Kaduna.
The iconic club, set to compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season, is steeped in Nigerian football history. Over the years, it has produced several notable internationals and played a pivotal role in shaping Kaduna’s vibrant football culture.
Speaking about the acquisition, Umar expressed his enthusiasm for restoring the club’s former glory, emphasizing that the revival project aims to nurture young talent and reignite the team’s winning tradition.
“My partner, Honourable Bello, and I want to return the club to its heyday. Growing up, I watched Rancher Bees of Kaduna, a club that has produced countless players. It is a source of pride and joy for us to be the rightful owners of the club,” Sadiq said.

As part of their plans, Rancher Bees FC is set to field an academy team and a professional side for the NNL campaign.
“Our target is to secure promotion to the NPFL. I’m thrilled by the feedback from Rancher Bees supporters and the people of Kaduna. We will bring back the cherished memories of the club and encourage fans to return to the stadium,” Sadiq added.
With its strong and passionate fan base in Kaduna, the new era for Rancher Bees FC promises an exciting journey towards restoring its storied past.
