Bandits abduct Chief Imam, 5 others in Zamfara midnight attack near military base

In yet another troubling security incident, armed bandits have abducted the Chief Imam of Fangaltama and five other residents during a pre-dawn attack in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The raid occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, along the Gusau–Sokoto highway, as gunmen stormed Fangaltama community—shockingly located just opposite a military base. Eyewitness accounts and reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama confirm that the assailants fired indiscriminately upon arrival, plunging residents into chaos.
Among the victims was a female resident identified as Basira Abdullahi, who was shot and injured during the onslaught. Her current condition remains unclear as local sources say she was rushed to a nearby health facility for treatment.

“The bandits abducted six persons, including the Chief Imam of the village, Liman Hamisu Ali, and five other residents,” he said.
Security personnel responded to the scene but were unable to intercept the attackers, who had already fled with their captives by the time the team arrived.
