Benin City: Man allegedly kills wife in shocking case of domestic violence

A devastating case of domestic violence has shaken Benin City, Edo State, as a man identified as Esosa Imasuen has allegedly taken the life of his wife, Chinwedu Nnadozie, following a violent altercation.
The tragic incident occurred on Oza Street in the Ogbelaka area, along Sakponba Road a busy and densely populated part of the city. Chinwedu, a mother of three, reportedly suffered fatal injuries after being physically assaulted by her husband during a heated misunderstanding.
Neighbors and local residents, still reeling from the news, described the couple as generally quiet but often troubled. Many expressed deep shock and sorrow, saying they never imagined the escalating tension between them would end in such a horrific manner.
Speaking of the incident, the father of the deceased Everistus Nnadoze said he was called that his son-in-law, Esosa Imasuen had beaten her daughter and left her with serious injuries.
“They said he took her to the hospital where a doctor was said to have carried out some tests on her, and the result showed that she has internal bleeding”, he said.

He said she later gave up the ghost at the hospital before he could reach her, adding that he was not able to see her corpse.
They said Imasuen took her corpse to an undisclosed mortuary alone. ”I went to his house, they said he had absconded”.
He said he had been calling the son-in law to come and show him the mortuary where his daughter’s corpse, but he has not showed up.
When contacted the Edo command’s spokesperson said he has contacted many police stations in Benin and none of them had received such a report.
