Tragic road accident in Katsina claims 9 lives

A devastating road accident along the Malumfashi-Kafur Road in Katsina State has claimed the lives of nine people, leaving 11 others injured.
The Katsina State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Aliyu Ma’aji, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement on Sunday.
According to preliminary findings, the crash involved a bus carrying 20 passengers and was caused by excessive speeding, which led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The FRSC has repeatedly warned motorists about the dangers of reckless driving and speeding, urging compliance with road safety regulations to prevent such fatal accidents.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance and transport the injured to the hospital for treatment. Authorities have called for heightened road safety awareness and stricter enforcement of traffic laws to curb avoidable road tragedies.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safe driving practices to protect lives on Nigerian roads.
“The FRSC, Katsina State Command announced to the general public of an ugly incident of road traffic crash at Malumfashi town, on Malumfashi – Kafur Road.
“It resulted to the death of nine people travelling in a Hummer bus conveying 20 people, 11 persons were rescued and now receiving treatment at a hospital for varying degrees of injuries,” Ma’aji said.
He advised motorists to adhere to speed limits and avoid reckless driving, particularly during festive periods, emphasizing that despite government efforts to improve road infrastructure, unsafe driving habits continue to result in loss of lives.
