Zamfara: Bandits kill 7 in Jangebe farming ambush

In another heartbreaking act of violence, armed bandits struck Jangebe town in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing five Community Protection Guard (CPG) members and two civilians during a farming ambush on Friday afternoon.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred while the CPG personnel, including their Unit Commander, were providing security and assisting local farmers on the outskirts of the village. They were suddenly ambushed and fatally shot by the attackers.
The bandits, believed to be part of an armed gang terrorizing rural communities in the region, also killed a man and a woman working on a nearby farm during the deadly assault.

Security sources confirmed that the assailants carted away two pump-action rifles belonging to the slain guards, further escalating concerns over rising insecurity and the growing strength of criminal groups in Zamfara.
