Court remands 34-year-old man over alleged rape of 4 women, including 3 sisters

In a deeply disturbing case, a 34-year-old man identified as Femi James has been remanded in custody by an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly raping four women, among them three sisters.
The accused, whose residential address was not made public during the court proceedings, is facing a charge of rape brought against him by law enforcement authorities.
Presiding Magistrate Adebola Adeola declined to take James’s plea, citing the court’s lack of jurisdiction over the matter.

During Thursday’s proceedings, the prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olarotimi, informed the court that the alleged crimes took place between 2017 and 2025 in the Akobo area of Ibadan.
According to Olarotimi, the accused reportedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of four women—three sisters identified as Udomex G. (27), Udomex J. (28), and Udomex B. (17), as well as another woman, Idowu V. (28)—all without their consent.
He noted that the alleged offence violated Section 358 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
