Judge recuses himself from Senator Natasha’s case

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has officially stepped down from presiding over the case involving suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District.
During Tuesday’s court session, Justice Egwuatu withdrew from the case shortly after counsels announced their appearances.

His decision came in response to allegations of bias raised by the third defendant, Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The judge confirmed that the case file will be returned to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, for reassignment to another judge.
