EFCC summons former AGF Abubakar Malami

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly invited former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, for interrogation.
Malami confirmed the summons in a post shared on his verified Facebook page early Friday morning. However, he did not reveal the details of the investigation or the specific issues the anti-graft agency intends to probe.
He said: “This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC.
“As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.

” I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service – the principles that I both advocate and champion.
“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold.”
Malami, who served as AGF from late 2015 until May 2023 under former President Muhammadu Buhari, oversaw the EFCC during his eight-year tenure at the Ministry of Justice.
Abubakar Malami, SAN, is a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and has declared his aspiration for the governorship of Kebbi State.
