Humble beginning

Born on September 20, 1995, in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, Hilda hails from Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

She earned a degree in Sociology from Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State.

Inspired by her mother, Lynda Ndukwe, who is also a professional chef, Hilda pursued a culinary career that would later propel her onto the global stage.

Before her Guinness World Record attempt, she hosted Dine on a Budget, a television program on Pop Central TV, where she showcased how to prepare affordable meals creatively.

Culinary achievements and Guinness World Record

In March 2023, Hilda declared her intention to break the record for the world’s longest cooking marathon, which was previously held by Lata Tondon of Indiawith 87 hours, 45 minutes set in 2019.

Her cook-a-thon began on May 11, 2023, in Lagos and immediately captured public attention.

By May 15, 2023, at 7:45 a.m., she had already surpassed the previous record.

Although she initially aimed for 96 hours, she pushed her limit to a 100-hour attempt, showcasing resilience and determination.

The marathon attracted massive public and celebrity support.

Dignitaries and stars such as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince, and Pastor Bolaji Idowu visited the venue, while then-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also called to encourage her.

After reviewing the evidence, Guinness World Records officially confirmed her record at 93 hours, 11 minutes.

Later in November 2023, Irish chef Alan Fisher broke her record with an astonishing 119 hours, 57 minutes, while also setting a new baking marathon record.

Hilda responded graciously, congratulating Fisher for his achievement.

Upcoming World Record Attempt: Largest Pot of Jollof Rice

In September 2025, Hilda Baci will embark on another ambitious culinary challenge, cooking the largest pot of Jollof rice ever made.

She announced the event on social media, revealing that it will be held in partnership with @ginonaija under the theme #GinoworldJollofFestwithHildaBaci. The attempt will feature a giant pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall, specially designed for the feat.

The event is expected to attract a massive turnout, celebrating one of West Africa’s most iconic dishes.

Apart from her culinary exploits, Hilda has also ventured into Nollywood. She has featured in films such as:
