Court strikes out case against passenger accused of assaulting Ibom Air attendant

Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of assaulting a flight attendant on an Ibom Air flight, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre just two days after her arraignment at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Ogba.
The incident, which sparked public attention, arose from an altercation between Emmanson and an air hostess during a flight from Uyo to Lagos.

At the Samuel Ilori Courthouse, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge—ranging from alleged assault to willful damage—filed against her by the Airport Police Command, effectively ending the case.
Police prosecutor Olubunmi Adeitan informed the court that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Airport Command, had decided to withdraw the charges unconditionally, leading to Emmanson’s immediate release.
