EFCC arrests 7 suspected Yahoo Boys in Abuja, recovers luxury items

In another major clampdown on cybercrime, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys, during coordinated raids in Abuja.
The arrests took place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the Lifecamp and Kubwa areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to a statement from the commission, the operation was based on credible intelligence that linked the suspects to a series of online fraud activities.
Though the EFCC did not immediately disclose the names of the suspects, it confirmed the recovery of high-value items, including luxury vehicles, laptops, mobile phones, and other digital devices believed to have been used in the commission of cyber-related offenses.

“Items recovered from them include eight high-end automobiles, expensive laptop computers and mobile phones.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” the statement added.
