Flying Eagles begin final preparations for 2025 U-20 AFCON in Abuja

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have entered the final phase of their preparations for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, setting up camp in Abuja as the countdown to the continental tournament begins.
Head coach Aliyu Zubairu is putting the squad through their paces after a month-long training programme in Katsina, where the team laid the foundation for what is expected to be a strong AFCON campaign.
A total of 35 players have been invited to the Abuja camp, including seven foreign-based professionals. The squad boasts a solid backbone made up of players who clinched the WAFU B Under-20 Championship title in Togo last year, raising expectations of a strong showing in this year’s tournament.

Drawn in Group B, the Flying Eagles face a tough group featuring Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa. The tournament is scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 18.
