Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has hailed the strong voter turnout recorded during the recently concluded local government elections, describing it as a resounding demonstration of public confidence in the democratic system.

Governor Bago praised the calm and orderly conduct of voters across polling units, commending their dedication to a peaceful electoral process. He emphasized that the impressive participation reflects the people’s belief in grassroots governance and civic responsibility.

The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for upholding the autonomy of sub-national elections — a move he said reinforces democratic principles and strengthens Nigeria’s political foundation.

Bago, who has earned wide admiration for his leadership approach, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections at all levels in Niger State. He reiterated that his administration will continue to encourage citizen participation and deepen democratic values across the state.
