Tragedy as Nigerian Army recruit dies during training in Zaria

The Gombe State Government has confirmed the death of Ibrahim Nazifi, a newly recruited Nigerian Army trainee who reportedly died during training at the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Nazifi was among the first batch of successful candidates from Gombe State undergoing training under the Nigerian Army Regular Recruit Intake (NA RRI 90). The circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be fully disclosed.
Yusuf Danbayo, senior special assistant to the governor on security matters and intergovernmental affairs, announced the death in a statement on Thursday.
Danbayo said the recruit died after a brief illness at the training facility, identifying the deceased as a native of Buba Bani village in Kashere ward of Akko local government area.
Danbayo said Nazifi’s application number was 90RRI-GO-9017726.

“It is with deep sorrow, humility and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that I announce the passing of Ibrahim Nazifi, one of our promising recruits undergoing training at the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria,” he said.
He said the loss was deeply felt by the family of the deceased, the Gombe state government, the people of Akko local government area and the state at large.
“This painful loss is not only felt by his family but by the entire people of Gombe State and all well-wishers.
“We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, accepts his intentions and efforts as acts of worship, and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus,” he said.
