IGP approves posting of Mohammed Dankwara as new DIG of finance

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the posting of Mohammed Dankwara as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) overseeing the Department of Finance and Administration.
The announcement was contained in a statement released on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
According to the statement, Dankwara is replacing DIG Sahabo Yahaya, who recently retired after more than 30 years of what the police described as “distinguished and meritorious” service.

“Prior to his elevation, DIG Dankwara served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
“IGP Egbetokun, while congratulating the senior officer on his new appointment, expressed confidence in his capacity to bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the administrative functions of the Nigeria Police Force.
“The posting is in line with the IGP’s commitment to repositioning the Force for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” the statement said.
