In response to the recent wave of deadly attacks in Bokkos and neighboring communities in Plateau State, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical police assets to the area.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the deployment follows a series of brutal attacks that began on March 28, 2025, claiming several lives and leaving many others injured. The police intervention is aimed at restoring calm, preventing further violence, and apprehending those responsible.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Kwazhi Dali Yakubu, who is in charge of operations, has been assigned to lead the special mission. He arrived in Plateau State on April 8, 2025, and paid a courtesy visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with the state government.

The reinforcements include advanced surveillance tools such as drones, helicopters, Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), and specialized police units equipped to carry out precision operations in volatile areas.

DIG Kwazhi will oversee intelligence-led security operations and work in close partnership with local authorities and community stakeholders to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore lasting peace in the region.

The Nigeria Police Force is urging residents to cooperate fully with security agencies by providing credible information that can aid in curbing the violence and maintaining peace.
