Court orders PDP to conduct national convention in Ibadan

An Oyo State High Court has given the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the clearance to go ahead with its national convention slated for November 15 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The ruling was delivered on Monday by Justice A.L. Akintola, who granted an ex parte order after hearing a motion filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi.
Recall that the PDP crisis deepened on Saturday when the Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC) suspended four top party officials.

In a swift reaction, a faction loyal to National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu announced the suspension of Damagum and other key officers, further dividing the party’s leadership.
