Gunmen kill 2, injure 1 in fresh Plateau community attack

Tragedy struck on Tuesday night in Daron village, located in Gyel District of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, as gunmen suspected to be armed Fulani herdsmen carried out a brutal attack, leaving two people dead and one injured.
According to reports, the assailants stormed the quiet community around 8 p.m., firing gunshots indiscriminately and throwing residents into panic as they fled for safety.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Jos on Wednesday, the President of the Berom Youths Moulders Association (BYM), Solomon Dalyop, condemned the attack and described it as another senseless act of violence targeting innocent villagers.
Dalyop said, “In another turn of events at about 8 pm on 21st October, 2025, bandits suspected to be armed Fulanis attacked and shot dead two people, among whom is Mr Pam Choji.”

According to him, one person was also injured at Daron village of Gyel District in Jos South LGA.
Meanwhile, the Plateau State Police Command also confirmed the incident.
The spokesman of the Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, stated that, “Yes, we are aware of the incident and investigation is ongoing.”
