President Tinubu orders ban on export of raw shea nuts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an immediate temporary suspension of raw shea nut exports from Nigeria as part of measures to strengthen local value addition and industrial growth.
The directive was announced on Tuesday in Abuja through a statement by Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President.
According to the statement, Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently chairing a high-level implementation meeting with key stakeholders to ensure strict compliance with the presidential order.

The move is expected to encourage domestic processing of shea nuts into finished products, boost Nigeria’s agro-industrial sector, create jobs, and increase revenue from value-added exports.
