Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said his recognition at the Vanguard Awards is not a final achievement but a motivation to do more in public service.

Tunji-Ojo, who was named Personality of the Year at the event held at Eko Hotels and Suites, explained that the honour would push him and his team to work harder in delivering their mandate.

He said the ministry would step up efforts to fully implement the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially within the Ministry of Interior.

The minister also thanked the President for the opportunity to serve, adding that the current administration has provided an enabling environment for innovation and improved performance.

“This award is not just for our performance, but also for Mr President’s leadership, encouragement, and the platform he has provided for us to innovate,” he said.

Describing the recognition as motivation to do more, the minister assured that the ministry would continue to deepen reforms and deliver on its mandate.

“This award is not a destination; it is a work in progress and an invitation to do more. We will continue to ensure that the Renewed Hope Agenda is firmly established in the Ministry of Interior,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Anambra State governor, Jim Nwobodo, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award, expressed gratitude to the organisers.

Nwobodo said he was honoured to be recognised even out of office, describing the gesture as uncommon.

“You honoured me even out of office, which is rare. I believe that being straightforward, truthful, and committed to doing the right thing ultimately brings reward. I sincerely thank Vanguard for this honour,” he said.
