Panic in Uyo as young woman found dead in gutter

Residents of Udok Street, off Barracks Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, were thrown into panic on Wednesday morning following the discovery of a young woman’s lifeless body lying in a gutter.

The deceased has been identified as Goodness Israel. Her body was found with no visible signs of violence, except for foam coming out of her nose, raising questions about the cause of her sudden and mysterious death.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John, revealed that the identification was made possible through a document recovered from the scene.

“The name on the NIM found carries ‘Goodness Edem Israel’. Investigation is in progress; I will communicate further developments,” she said.

Police have begun a probe into the incident, while the community remains in shock over the mysterious death.
