Wike renames Abuja Int’l Conference Centre after Tinubu

In a move to honor Nigeria’s sitting president, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has officially renamed the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC) after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The announcement was made on Tuesday during the commissioning ceremony of the newly revamped facility in Abuja, which was graced by President Tinubu himself. The iconic venue will now be known as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
Speaking at the event, Wike described the centre as a world-class structure that requires consistent maintenance to preserve its standard. He also emphasized that moving forward, anyone seeking to use the facility—regardless of their social or political status—must pay the required fees.

“This is not a facility to be misused or allowed to fall into disrepair,” the minister stated. “Everyone, no matter their position in society, will be expected to pay for its use. That’s the only way we can ensure it remains in top condition.”
