Tinubu condemns killing of hunters in Edo, orders investigation

President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the killing of a group of travelling hunters who were reportedly intercepted and lynched by local vigilantes in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Expressing shock over the tragic incident on Thursday, Tinubu directed law enforcement agencies to carry out a swift and thorough investigation to ensure that those responsible face justice.
In a statement released on Friday by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended his condolences to the victims’ families. He assured them that criminal elements would not be allowed to spill innocent blood without facing the full weight of the law.

The President emphasized that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria and reaffirmed the right of every citizen to move freely across the country.
He also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and community leaders in Uromi for their prompt intervention in preventing further unrest.
