Gov Bago reaffirms commitment to complement Tinubu’s agricultural agenda

Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to boosting agricultural investment in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s food sovereignty agenda.
Speaking as a Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 Agric & Export Expo organized by First Bank of Nigeria in Lagos, Bago emphasized the crucial role of agriculture in Nigeria’s economic future.
The governor, popularly known as the farmer governor, urged Nigerians to embrace agriculture not only as a means of achieving food security but also as a profitable venture with significant returns on investment.
He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already given agriculture a top priority through the numerous agricultural initiatives,which have attracted many investors, explaining that Niger State is equally not doing less and will remain steadfast in supporting president Tinubu’s agricultural policies.
The farmer governor, who observed that lack of access to financing has been one of the major challenges confronting farmers, enjoined First Bank of Nigeria to continue to partner with the government in addressing it.

He commended the management of the financial institution for creating a platform to encourage those who are into the farming business in the country.
The farmer governor also appreciated the Lagos State government for partnering with Niger State government in the agricultural sector and reassured that his administration will continue to harness the state’s agricultural potential for the betterment of its citizens.
The 2025 First Bank Agric and Export Expo, with the theme “ The fundamentals of building an export- driven economy” is aimed at bringing together leaders, investors, and stakeholders to strengthen agriculture and boost export opportunities.
The event was well attended, with many other eminent personalities such as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Sen. Abubakar Kyari, among others.
