2 children killed, others injured in mysterious explosion

A tragic explosion rocked the Abakpa area of Kaduna State on Tuesday, claiming the lives of two children—13-year-old Imam and six-year-old Nasrin. Three other residents reportedly sustained injuries in the incident.
The explosion occurred just two kilometers from the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), heightening concerns in the community about safety and security.
At the time of this report, the exact cause of the blast remains unknown. Security agencies have since arrived at the scene to commence investigations.
A resident who witnessed the aftermath recounted, “I was taking my bath when I heard the loud explosion. I rushed outside in fear and saw people running and screaming.”

“The explosion occurred very close to my house. So when I heard it, I ran out to see what has happened. I saw one of the affected victims, Imam, and tried to take him to the hospital but he died before we got to the hospital.”
Details are still sketchy as at the time of this report, but the incident has caused fears in the area as residents are still in shock.
