Ancelotti denies wrongdoing in Spanish tax evasion case

Real Madrid’s legendary manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has found himself at the center of a legal battle in Spain as he faces allegations of tax evasion.
The Italian coach recently appeared before a Spanish court, firmly denying any wrongdoing related to his financial affairs.
Spanish prosecutors accuse Ancelotti of failing to pay one million euros in taxes on his earnings during his first stint as Real Madrid’s head coach between 2013 and 2015.
Authorities claim that while he declared his salary, he allegedly omitted income generated from image rights, leading to the tax dispute.

As a result, prosecutors are seeking a severe penalty: a prison sentence of four years and nine months, alongside a hefty fine of 3.2 million euros.
Testifying at the Provincial Court of Madrid on Wednesday, Ancelotti maintained that his financial matters were handled appropriately. He asserted that he relied on financial advisors to manage his tax obligations and expressed confidence in his compliance with Spanish tax laws.
