NUJ FCT celebrates Muslim journalists, calls for unity, integrity on Eid-el-Fitr

As Muslims across Nigeria mark the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslim journalists and the entire Muslim community.

The union also encouraged them to uphold the values of unity, patience, and integrity, which are essential in both faith and professional practice.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, conveyed the message of goodwill on behalf of the union.

NUJ FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, commended Muslim faithful for their dedication, self-discipline, and spiritual devotion throughout the sacred month of Ramadan. She described this period as a time of deep reflection, reinforcing values such as love, sacrifice, and unity.

Eid-el-Fitr, celebrated at the end of Ramadan, is a time for gratitude, generosity, and renewed commitment to community service.

The NUJ FCT Council emphasized the importance of journalists leading by example, fostering harmony, and upholding ethical journalism in their reporting.

“As we celebrate the end of Ramadan, we are reminded of the importance of patience, generosity, and compassion. These values should continue to guide us in our work as journalists and our duties as citizens of this great country,” she said.

The NUJ FCT Chairman also called on all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of Eid by promoting peace, understanding, and a strong commitment to truth and justice. She highlighted the important role journalists play in maintaining integrity, fostering national unity, and contributing to the development of Nigeria.

She expressed hope that the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations would bring new hope, blessings, and prosperity to all Nigerians, encouraging everyone to observe the festivities with love, harmony, and renewed purpose.

“The Council extends its best wishes to all Muslim faithful and prays for lasting peace, progress, and unity in the country,” the statement concluded.
