FA extends Tuchel’s contract until Euro 2028 after impressive England run

Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract that will see him remain head coach of the England national team until the conclusion of the Euro 2028 tournament, set to be hosted by the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Football Association (FA) confirmed the development on Thursday, rewarding the German tactician with an extension less than two years after his appointment.
Tuchel was named successor to Gareth Southgate in October 2024 and has since overseen a remarkable run with the Three Lions. Under his leadership, England completed an unbeaten qualification campaign for this year’s World Cup in North America, winning all eight of their group matches in dominant fashion.

The contract renewal reflects the FA’s strong confidence in Tuchel’s vision, tactical approach, and ability to steer the national team through a new era.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon and Euro 2028 set to be played on home soil, the decision provides continuity and stability as England aim to convert their recent progress into silverware.
