Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and several prominent politicians, including members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), have launched a coalition against President Bola Tinubu in preparation for the 2027 general election.
The coalition, which was unveiled at an ongoing press conference, includes opposition leaders such as Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi (represented by Yunusa Tanko), former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. Others present include National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties, Peter Ahmeh, and Convenor of the Alternative, Segun Showunmi.
Additionally, former governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), and ex-APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, were not in attendance but sent in their apologies, signaling their alignment with the movement.

This coalition marks a major political development, as it brings together key figures from both opposition and ruling party circles, signaling a potential realignment of forces ahead of the next presidential election.
