4 feared dead as armed bandits set houses ablaze in Zamfara village

Fear and grief have engulfed Gwargwaba village in Zamfara State after a deadly attack by armed bandits left at least four residents dead and several homes destroyed.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Nahuce District, Bungudu Local Government Area, when heavily armed assailants reportedly invaded the quiet community around 6:00 p.m.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, who shared details of the attack on X on Saturday, the gunmen stormed the village and began setting houses on fire, throwing residents into panic as families scrambled to escape.
The assailants also destroyed food supplies and killed and burned livestock.

Bakatsine added that the attack came after villagers refused to pay illegal levies demanded by the bandits, a refusal that reportedly provoked the violent retaliation.
“On Thursday evening around 6pm, bandits armed with sophisticated weapons stormed Gwargwaba village in Nahuce District, Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State.
“Four residents were burned alive in their homes, while houses, food stores, and livestock were set ablaze.
“The attack reportedly followed the villagers’ refusal to pay illegal levies imposed by the bandits,” Bakatsine wrote.
