The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has decorated 265 officers and personnel with their new ranks following their recent promotions.
The promotions were approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board as part of ongoing efforts to reward dedication, hard work, and professionalism within the service.
The decoration ceremony was held at the Command Headquarters in Kano and was presided over by the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama. The event brought together senior officers, colleagues, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the newly elevated personnel.
Addressing the officers, Commandant Agalama congratulated them on their well-deserved promotions, describing the advancement as a recognition of their commitment and service to the corps and the nation.
This is contained in a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, a copy of which was made available to The Punch on Friday.
In his address, Commandant Agalama described the promotion as a recognition of dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty, urging the officers to see their new ranks as a call to higher responsibility and service.
“Your elevation is in recognition of your dedication, discipline, selfless service, and commitment to duty, “ the commandant was quoted as saying.
He charged them to continually uphold the core values of the Corps— integrity, patriotism, loyalty, professionalism, and respect for constituted authority, while discharging their duties.
The Commandant further warned against acts of indiscipline and unprofessional conduct, stressing that the Command will not tolerate any behaviour capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute.
According to him, professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to operational guidelines remain critical to achieving the Command’s mandate of protecting critical national assets and ensuring public safety across Kano State.
The ceremony was attended by important dignitaries, including a member representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado, senior officers of the Command, representatives of sister security agencies, family members, and well-wishers.
