Fire razes FIRS office in Abuja

A fire outbreak on Saturday destroyed one of the offices of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in Abuja, causing alarm among residents and workers in the area.
Videos circulating on social media showed flames engulfing parts of the building as onlookers watched in shock.

In a statement issued by the management of the FIRS, the agency confirmed the incident and announced that an investigation has been launched into the fire, which damaged several offices.
The statement read: “The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) wishes to inform the general public that a fire incident occurred on the morning of Saturday, 20th December 2025, at one of its offices located at No. 15 Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
