President Tinubu renames Bauchi varsity after Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi

President Bola Tinubu has approved the renaming of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, in Bauchi State to honor the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

The announcement came on Saturday during a condolence visit by the President to the family of the respected cleric in Bauchi.

During the visit, President Tinubu praised the late scholar for a lifetime devoted to the service of God, humanity, and the Nigerian nation.

He described Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a distinguished Islamic scholar, a moral guide for the country, and a figure whose teachings on honesty, integrity, and upright character shaped generations of Nigerians.

The President arrived at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport at about 4:50 pm and was received by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang; ministers; and other senior government officials.

Among the ministers present were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and the Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, alongside other dignitaries who welcomed the President.

Members of the presidential entourage included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, among others.
