Shawn Faqua, a native of the Imo state in South Eastern Nigeria was born on June 6th, 1988.
After completion of his basic education, Shawn went further to obtain a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt.
Before venturing fully into acting, he balanced his academic pursuits with modeling, choreography, stage performances, and television hosting.
His transition into acting was solidified in 2012 when he earned a Certificate in Acting from the Nollywood Upgrade Training a program affiliated with the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University.
By 2014, Faqua made a complete shift from engineering to pursue a full-time acting career, a decision that quickly paid off as he became one of Nollywood’s most respected performers.

His charitable journey began in 2004 when he joined the Youth Against HIV and AIDS campaign, collaborating with Nigeria’s then-First Lady, Stella Obasanjo, to promote voluntary counseling and testing awareness during the NUGA Games.
He later served as President of the Youth Against Drug Abuse and Child Trafficking (YAWAT) in Abuja.
In 2016, he partnered with the Nigerian Army for The Fallen Heroes Project, starring in the short film Separated tribute to Nigeria’s fallen soldiers and their families.
Since then, he has actively participated in charity events and disaster relief initiatives nationwide.
Personal life
On October 17, 2025, Shawn Faqua traditionally married Nollywood actress Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe in Lagos.
The following day, October 18, the couple made history by hosting Nigeria’s first-ever wedding aboard a moving train.

The unique ceremony took place along the Lagos–Ibadan Standard Gauge Railway, where a train coach was elegantly transformed into a mobile wedding venue, creating a spectacle that captured national attention.
Off-screen, Faqua enjoys reading, dancing, traveling, playing tennis, and watching movies. He currently resides in Lagos, Nigeria.
