Gunmen kill 2 officers in Attack on Kaduna police station

Tragedy struck on Friday evening as gunmen launched a deadly assault on a police station in Zonkwa, located in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two police officers.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers stormed the station, situated just a few meters from Kamyim Hotel in the Kurmin-Bi area, and began shooting indiscriminately, sending residents fleeing for safety.
Eyewitnesses said that the assailants were attempting to rescue some suspected vandals arrested earlier in Kachia town.
“They believed that the suspects were being detained at the Zonkwa Police Station,” one witness said.

“However, it was later gathered that the suspects were not being held at the station. But the havoc had already been done,” the witness, who requested anonymity, added.
A security source confirmed the incident but declined to provide further details.
A video making rounds on the social media shows two officers in uniform lying motionless on the floor, as a crowd gathered at the scene, lamenting the worsening insecurity in the area.
