Burglars raid Polaris Bank branch in Awka, cart away undisclosed cash

Operations at the Polaris Bank branch in Amenyi, Awka, Anambra State, were thrown into disarray on Thursday after burglars broke into the premises and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident was discovered when the branch manager arrived at the bank around 7:30 a.m. to commence the day’s activities.
To her shock, the banking hall, offices, and vault had been forcefully accessed and left in disarray. A check on the strong room confirmed that cash had been stolen.

The situation has sparked unease among both customers and staff, as the bank is yet to reveal the exact amount stolen.
According to sources close to the organisation, efforts are underway to unravel how the break-in occurred, even as internal checks continue. Police have also been called in to investigate the case.
