Panic in Benue as gov Alia’s aide, Terver Atu Joseph, kidnapped

Tension has gripped Benue State following the abduction of Terver Atu Joseph, the Special Assistant on Youth and Media Mobilization to Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, sparking anxiety among his family, colleagues, and the wider political circle in the state.
Benue activist Ukan Kurugh confirmed the development, revealing that Joseph’s wife disclosed he managed to place a distress call before his phone went off. In the brief call, Joseph told her he had been kidnapped and asked that his mother be informed.

Since then, all efforts to trace his location or re-establish contact have failed, leaving his loved ones deeply worried.
Details about the abduction remain unclear, but his family has made a passionate appeal to security agencies to swing into action and secure his safe release.
