A tense scene unfolded at the gates of the National Assembly in Abuja on Tuesday as security operatives denied entry to suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, sparking a dramatic standoff that drew public attention.

The embattled lawmaker arrived at the complex in a show of defiance, accompanied by prominent activist Aisha Yesufu, rights advocate Mama P, fellow activist Randy, and a crowd of vocal supporters. However, their efforts to gain access to the premises were halted by stern-faced security officials stationed at the entrance.

Tensions rose as Aisha Yesufu stepped forward to confront the security personnel, demanding to know the basis for the directive allegedly instructing them to block Senator Natasha from entering the legislative chambers.

“National Assembly is meant to be for everyone. Why are you stopping us?

“We are not abiding doesn’t mean we are cowards,” she said.

The standoff quickly escalated as some supporters began chanting “Push!” while attempting to force their way in.

Natasha’s supporters were later seen marching toward the complex, chanting solidarity songs.
