Dangote Refinery reduces petrol price to N840 per litre

In a positive move for Nigerian consumers, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from ₦880 to ₦840 per litre.
The price adjustment took effect on June 30, 2025, and was confirmed by the Group’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, during a media briefing held on Monday night.
“PMS price has been reduced from N880 to N840 per litre effective 30th June,” Chiejina said.

Recall that the Dangote refinery hiked the price of petrol to N880 as tension escalated during the 12-day crisis between Israel and Iran, raising the price of crude oil to almost $80 per barrel.
There was earlier report that marketers anticipated that there would be a new price regime from Monday.
Dangote’s partners like MRS, Heyden and AP are expected to adjust their pump prices soon.
