Peter Obi donates N20m to Niger flood victims

Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Niger State following the recent devastating flood in Mokwa, which claimed multiple lives and displaced several residents.

Obi visited the state on a condolence mission, where he was received at the Government House by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, who stood in for Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.

During the emotional visit, Peter Obi donated ₦20 million to support victims of the disaster and their families. He also offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives and expressed deep sympathy for the affected communities.

“I stand in solidarity with the people of Niger State during this painful time,” Obi said. “Let us continue to support one another and work toward long-term solutions to mitigate the impacts of such natural disasters.”

He commended the state government for its immediate response efforts and urged increased investment in disaster preparedness and climate resilience to reduce future tragedies.
