Tinubu returns to Nigeria after attending historic Papal inauguration in Rome

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his trip to Rome, where he attended the historic inauguration of Pope Leo XIV.
The landmark event drew global attention, marking a significant moment in religious and diplomatic relations.
The President arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Tuesday evening and was warmly received by a delegation of top government officials. Among those present to welcome him were the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje.

Tinubu’s participation in the Vatican ceremony underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering strong international and interfaith relationships. His presence at the papal inauguration is seen by many as a symbol of goodwill and diplomacy on the global stage.
