Breaking…Delta Governor Oborevwori dumps PDP for APC

In a significant political development, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The dramatic switch was confirmed on Wednesday following a closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Asaba. The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, disclosed the defection in a phone conversation with Vanguard, ending days of speculation about Oborevwori’s political future.
Governor Oborevwori, who emerged victorious in the 2023 gubernatorial election under the PDP platform, said the move to the APC came after “extensive consultations with political stakeholders” and was made in the best interest of Delta State’s long-term development.

Senior APC officials welcomed him into the party, signaling a major realignment of political forces in the South-South region.
