As part of activities marking the 2025 National Police Day celebration, the Commissioner of Police in Niger State, CP Adamu Elleman, has once again emphasized the role of the Nigeria Police Force in safeguarding lives and property.

He reminded Nigerians that the police remain their friends and partners in ensuring public safety and security.

CP Elleman gave this assurance while leading senior officers and personnel of the Command in a fitness and awareness roadwork tagged “Walkathon for National Police Day.” The event was organized to foster unity within the Force and strengthen community relations.

According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, the walkathon kicked off at the State Police Headquarters in Dutsen-Kura, Minna. The procession moved through the Government House road to ETB Junction, and then returned through the GRA axis back to the headquarters.

During the exercise, the Commissioner of Police noted that the Police is the servant of the people and not the other way round.

He used the opportunity to assure members of the public that as a new CP in the Command, he shall build on the successes he met on the ground, adding that criminal elements shall be chased away from Niger State.

CP Elleman, therefore, urged criminals or potential criminals to rethink and turn a new life or leave the State.
