Deadly nightclub fire in North Macedonia kills several, injures more

A devastating fire tore through a nightclub in the town of Kocani early Sunday, leaving dozens of people either dead or injured, according to local media reports.
The blaze reportedly broke out in the crowded venue before rapidly spreading to the ceiling and roof, which were quickly engulfed in flames. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as panicked patrons attempted to flee, with thick smoke and intense heat making escape difficult.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, battling the fire and working to rescue those trapped inside. Local hospitals have been placed on high alert as authorities assess the number of casualties.

Officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire, and an investigation is underway. Firefighters and forensic teams are expected to comb through the wreckage in the coming hours to establish the source of the blaze.
North Macedonia’s government has expressed condolences to the victims and their families, vowing a thorough probe into the incident. Further details are expected as authorities continue their response.
