Bandits kill 12 vigilantes, abduct 4 in deadly Zamfara ambush

Armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Sabuwar Tunga in Adabka ward, Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of 12 vigilante operatives and the abduction of four residents.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, local vigilantes initially repelled the attack on Tuesday. However, while pursuing the fleeing bandits into the forest, the operatives were caught in a deadly ambush.
A local security source confirmed that the vigilantes were overpowered, leading to significant casualties.

“The community initially repelled them, but unfortunately, the bandits regrouped and ambushed our men, leading to the tragic loss of 12 members,” the source said.
The bandits escaped into the forest following the assault, leaving the community in mourning as security forces work to track them down.
